Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Vice President to join our Power, Utilities & Infrastructure (PUI) Investment Banking team in New York. This role offers the opportunity to take on a leadership position in executing complex M&A and capital markets transactions while helping drive client relationships across a broad and rapidly evolving sector. The PUI platform at Jefferies covers a diverse range of subsectors, including renewable energy (solar, onshore and offshore wind, battery storage), thermal power generation, regulated and unregulated utilities, grid infrastructure, digital infrastructure (data centers, fiber), transportation infrastructure and other infrastructure subsectors.
The VP will play a central role in transaction execution and client engagement across these subsectors, working with corporates, developers, financial sponsors, and infrastructure investors. The position requires strong technical expertise, sector curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment while contributing to strategic dialogue around energy transition and infrastructure investment themes.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Execution
- Lead day-to-day execution of M&A, equity, and debt transactions
- Oversee financial modeling, valuation analysis, and transaction structuring
- Coordinate diligence processes and manage internal/external stakeholders
- Prepare and deliver high-quality client presentations and marketing materials
Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, private equity sponsors, and institutional investors
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to strategic advisory discussions
- Support senior bankers in identifying and originating new business opportunities
Team Leadership
- Manage, mentor, and develop Analysts and Associates
- Review financial models, presentations, and analysis for accuracy and quality
- Drive efficient execution across project teams
Sector Expertise
- Develop deep knowledge of the Power, Utilities & Infrastructure sectors (including the aforementioned subsectors)
- Monitor sector trends, market activity, and regulatory developments
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of investment banking experience, preferably within Power, Utilities, Energy, or Infrastructure
- Strong M&A and capital markets execution experience
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
